power skating

“A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be.” — Wayne Gretzky

From a young age, I spent countless hours watching the Yale Men’s Ice Hockey Team during practices and game warm-ups. Even then, I was fascinated by the players who stood out through their edge quality, skating efficiency, and effortless control on the ice. I noticed how players from different countries often brought unique skating styles and techniques to the game, which deepened my appreciation for the art and mechanics of skating.

As a coach, I have developed a true passion for working with hockey players of all ages and skill levels. One thing remains constant at every level of the game: skating is the foundation of hockey performance. Speed, agility, balance, edge control, and body awareness all begin with strong skating fundamentals.

No matter a player’s age or experience level, it is never too late to improve skating power, edge quality, and overall efficiency on the ice. My goal is to help athletes build stronger technique and develop the confidence that translates directly into game performance.

I have designed specialized power skating programs focused on improving:

  • Explosive power and acceleration
  • Edge quality and control
  • Balance and body awareness
  • Agility and transitions
  • Overall skating efficiency and performance

My coaching approach combines technical instruction with individualized feedback to help players become stronger, faster, and more confident skaters. Whether working with beginners or advanced athletes, I strive to create a positive, challenging, and motivating environment that helps every player reach their highest potential on the ice.
